Meg and Dia’s “Just One of Those Things” is magnificent. I’ve been listening to a lot of their older stuff and I love how it is just so raw. I find the lack of studio quality makes them sound better. Don’t take my word for it, but it just makes it the music seem so much more real… if that makes any sense.
Anyway, you can find ‘Just One of Those Things’ off their album called “Our Home Is Gone”.
Foxy Shazam's “Unstoppable" immediately caught my attention on NHL11. The vocals in the chorus reminded me of a Coheed & Cambria song. As I heard rest of the song, it soon hit me they sound like the new "Queen". Now of course, no one can replace or even come close to Queen’s music, but Foxy Shazam pull out all the stops with Unstoppable as the inspiration for the song was Chumba Wumba’s "I Get Knocked Down".
One cannot help cheering along to the gang vocals, air guitar-ing to each note or simply singing your heart out to the chorus.
You can catch Foxy Shazam on the upcoming Warped Tour.
Laura Marling’s ‘Failure' from her album “Alas I Cannot Swim” is simply terrific. I never liked folk music until Laura Marling came along. Well, I still don't like any other folk music besides Laura's haha.
Regardless, I highly recommend to listen to the song ‘Failure’ whether you’re a fan of a folk or not. It is really worth a listen =].
“If all that you take from this is courage, then I’ve no regrets.”—
Meg and Dia - Kiss You Goodnight
About the song…
"That is when Meg and I finished the lyrics for "I wanted to kiss you goodnight."….
Love for people….. I remember my friend. Two men on both sides of her, lifting her up off the mattress, holding her weak body over a bucket so she could pee. She couldn’t stand herself. She had brain cancer. She was languid. Always sweating. She would lie in bed, convalescent, but failing with each passing day. She still made sure I got the recipe for the best damn lemon meringue pie ever though. She told me we would finish the puzzle “later.” The puzzle was lilypads…purple flowers. A dark lake. And I told her I would remember everything…that i would be fine. I wouldn’t crawl into that “dark hole” my friends hated so much. I would remember the good times. Put her ashes in the soil of my fruit trees…..I promised her that. But again, I made myself more brave than I was. So the day before I laid down vocals for “Kiss you goodnight,” I changed the lyrics to the last chorus…..”
I had the pleasure of seeing Michou perform live who just so happened to open for Canadian artist Lights. Michou was quite the pleasant surprise as they played many enjoyable songs that I would consider ‘poppy’ but not poppy enough to be turned off from it.
In the end, it was Michou’s song “Still Wandering” that stood out for me. The politely filled guitar arrangements were executed with perfection which led way for fans to serenade and sing along with the singer singing the “Oooh oooo Ooohh” parts over the guitar.
Overall, Michou put on a very enjoyable performance. I hope you enjoy “Still Wandering” as much as I did.

Anybody remember Sonny Moore from the band From First To Last (FFTL)? Some of you may remember FFTL as a post-hardcore band while others may consider FFTL a whiny Emo band. Their song “Note to Self” is for sure a song that everyone should check out regardless of your taste in music…
But I am not here to talk about FFTL, I am here to talk about former FFTL vocalist, Sonny Moore. He has ripped out his post-hardcore roots out of the ground and implanted a new seed known as “Dubstep”. It is a rather interesting listen and quite the remarkable change of genre from songs like “Note To Self” to his new direction.
Hence I hope you enjoy the two differences. Now known as “Skrillex”, check out the song “Rock N Roll (Will Take You to the Mountain).
